Cultivation trays M-plastics on the environmental list

Customers of M-plastics are mostly large growers, who conclude direct contracts with large sellers of plants and cutting products, such as supermarkets and hardware stores. “Because the borders are not closed and the supermarkets in most countries have remained open, many of our customers have been able to continue working,” says company director Paul Schildmeijer. “However, there is great uncertainty and we had to improvise a lot with last minute orders. But because we always have 5000 pallets in stock and can respond quickly to urgent questions, we can serve our customers well. ”

The normal service provision will therefore continue in full swing. The company, specialized in the production of thermoform products, supplies growers throughout Europe, and also has its own development and production department for injection molded products for the horticultural sector. Sustainability is of course an important theme in this, says Paul. “We are working with horticultural and forestry workers to make the sector more sustainable, for example by developing products that can replace existing disposable trays with reusable breeding and weaning trays.”

Tax benefit

Since 1 January, Dutch customers have had an extra tax advantage on M-plastics products. “The line of breeding and weaning trays is included on the Environmental List under certain conditions, including all additional equipment that is required, such as a crate washer, filling machines and stacking equipment. When companies do a tray project with us, they can arbitrarily depreciate the investment, and may deduct an additional amount from their profit. In the case of the breeding trays that we develop, the deduction is in the highest category. That gives a considerable tax subsidy. ”
